El funeral de Estado de la reina se celebrará el lunes 19 de septiembre

Londres, 10 septiembre de 2022_ Agencia Anadolu _ La Casa Real de Reino Unido anunció este sábado que “el funeral de Estado de Su Majestad la Reina tendrá lugar en la Abadía de Westminster el lunes 19 de septiembre a las 11:00” horas del horario de verano británico.

En un comunicado, la Casa Real informó que los restos mortales de la reina “serán expuestos en el Westminster Hall durante cuatro días para permitir que el público” vele por ella “antes del funeral de Estado”.

“Actualmente, el ataúd de la reina descansa en el salón de baile del castillo de Balmoral”, señaló la Casa Real y agregó que, “mañana domingo 11 de septiembre, el ataúd viajará por carretera a Edimburgo para llegar al Palacio de Holyroodhouse, donde reposará en el Salón del Trono hasta la tarde del lunes 12 de septiembre”.

La Casa Real explicó que “se formará una procesión en la explanada del palacio en la tarde del lunes 12 de septiembre para llevar el ataúd a la catedral de San Giles, Edimburgo”, y reveló que “el rey y los miembros de la Familia Real participarán en la procesión y asistirán a un servicio en la catedral para recibir el ataúd”.

Según la Casa Resal, “el ataúd descansará en la catedral para permitir que el pueblo de Escocia presente sus respetos” y estará “custodiado por vigilias de la Compañía Real de Arqueros”.

“En la tarde del martes 13 de septiembre, el ataúd viajará desde el aeropuerto de Edimburgo en un avión de la Real Fuerza Aérea y llegará” a la Base Aérea de “Northolt más tarde esa noche”, prosiguió la Casa Real e indicó que, “durante el viaje, el ataúd estará acompañado por la princesa real”, en referencia a Ana, la única hija de la difunta reina.

“Luego”, dijo la Casa Real, “el ataúd será transportado al Palacio de Buckingham por carretera”, donde será depositado “en la Sala de Proa” para posteriormente, “en la tarde del miércoles 14 de septiembre, ser trasladado desde el Palacio de Buckingham hasta el Palacio de Westminster en procesión sobre un carro de armas de la Tropa Real de Artillería a Caballo del Rey”.

Una vez en el palacio, “la reina descansará en el Salón de Westminster hasta la mañana del funeral de Estado”.

La Casa Real indicó que “la procesión viajará a través de Queen’s Gardens, The Mall, Horse Guards y Horse Guards Arch, Whitehall, la calle del Parlamento, la plaza del Parlamento, y New Palace Yard”.

Una vez “el ataúd llegue a Westminster Hall, el arzobispo de Canterbury llevará a cabo un breve servicio asistido por David Hoyle, decano de Westminster, el rey y los miembros de la familia real”, añadió la Casa Real, “después de lo cual comenzará el velatorio”.

La Casa Real informó que el público podrá visitar Westminster Hall hasta la mañana del lunes 19 de septiembre, cuando el velatorio finalice y “el ataúd sea llevado desde el Palacio de Westminster hasta la Abadía de Westminster en procesión, donde tendrá lugar el servicio funerario de Estado”.

Tras el funeral de Estado, “el ataúd viajará en procesión desde la Abadía de Westminster hasta el Arco de Wellington” y desde allí “a Windsor”, según la Casa Real.

Una vez allí, “el coche fúnebre estatal viajará en procesión hasta la capilla de San Jorge, [en] el castillo de Windsor, a través de Long Walk” para finalmente llevarse a cabo “un servicio de compromiso en la capilla de San Jorge”.

Arrangements for the Funeral of Her Majesty The Queen

The State Funeral of Her Majesty The Queen will take place at Westminster Abbey on Monday 19th September at 1100hrs BST. Prior to the State Funeral, The Queen will Lie-in-State in Westminster Hall for four days, to allow the public to pay their respects.

The Queen’s Coffin currently rests in the Ballroom at Balmoral Castle. Her Majesty’s Coffin will travel to Edinburgh tomorrow, Sunday 11th September, by road, to arrive at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, where it will rest in the Throne Room until the afternoon of Monday 12th September.

On the afternoon of Monday 12th September, a Procession will be formed on the forecourt of the Palace of Holyroodhouse to convey the Coffin to St Giles’ Cathedral, Edinburgh. The King and Members of the Royal Family will take part in the Procession and attend a Service in St Giles’ Cathedral to receive the Coffin.

Her Majesty’s Coffin will then lie at rest in St Giles’ Cathedral, guarded by Vigils from The Royal Company of Archers, to allow the people of Scotland to pay their respects.

On the afternoon of Tuesday 13th September, The Queen’s Coffin will travel from Scotland by Royal Air Force aircraft from Edinburgh Airport, arriving at RAF Northolt later that evening. The Coffin will be accompanied on the journey by The Princess Royal.

The Queen’s Coffin will then be conveyed to Buckingham Palace by road, to rest in the Bow Room. On the afternoon of Wednesday 14th September, the Coffin will be borne in Procession on a Gun Carriage of The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery from Buckingham Palace to the Palace of Westminster, where The Queen will Lie-in-State in Westminster Hall until the morning of the State Funeral.

The Procession will travel via Queen’s Gardens, The Mall, Horse Guards and Horse Guards Arch, Whitehall, Parliament Street, Parliament Square and New Palace Yard. After the Coffin arrives at Westminster Hall, The Archbishop of Canterbury will conduct a short service assisted by The Very Reverend Dr David Hoyle, Dean of Westminster, and attended by The King and Members of the Royal Family, after which the Lying-in-State will begin.

During the Lying-in-State, members of the public will have the opportunity to visit Westminster Hall to pay their respects to The Queen. On the morning of Monday 19th September, the Lying-in-State will end and the Coffin will be taken in Procession from the Palace of Westminster to Westminster Abbey, where the State Funeral Service will take place.

Following the State Funeral, the Coffin will travel in Procession from Westminster Abbey to Wellington Arch. From Wellington Arch, the Coffin will travel to Windsor and once there, the State Hearse will travel in Procession to St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle via the Long Walk. A Committal Service will then take place in St George’s Chapel.
